3-1/3 cups (825 mL) all-purpose whole wheat flour
1 tsp (5 mL) baking soda
1 tsp (5 mL) cinnamon
1/2 tsp (2 mL) nutmeg
1/4 tsp (1 mL) cloves
1 cup (250 mL) butter, softened
1 cup (250 mL) sugar
1 cup (250 mL) brown sugar, lightly packed
1 cup (250 mL) milk
1/4 cup (50 mL) honey
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup (250 mL) oats
1/2 cup (125 mL) wheat germ
2 cups (500 mL) raisins or chocolate chips
1/2 cup (125 mL) nuts, chopped

Directions

Combine flour, baking soda, and spices. Stir well to blend. Cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Add milk, honey, vanilla, and eggs, beating well. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture and combine thoroughly. Stir in oats, wheat germ, raisins or chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2” (5 cm) apart on greased baking sheets. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 12-15 minutes or until golden.

Makes about 8 dozen cookies.
