1. Throw a Ball or Play Frisbee
It seems more like relaxation than structured exercise, but you’ll get your heart rate up every time you have to run or leap for an errant ball or Frisbee. Plus, you and your children will both improve your hand-eye coordination and have fun together while you do it.
2. Walk Your Children To and From School
By walking with them, you not only get peace of mind that they’re safe, but you also get to hear about the upcoming day on the way there, and how their day went on the way home.
3. Have a Family Game Night
Organize of night of physical activities instead of board games. Try a three-legged race, wheelbarrow races and so on and challenge another family from your street to a friendly competition. This way, you’ll all be exercising, spending time together and get in a few good laughs.
4. Place Small Children on the Floor Once a Day
Let your baby or toddler crawl around on the floor every day. We often confine children to high chairs or playpens and prevent them from being as active as they would like. Even putting them in a swing or setting them in front of the TV prevents physical activity. Let your baby crawl around and for some real family fun, get on the floor and crawl on the ground with them. Before you know it, you’ll be working up a real sweat while spending quality time with your child.
