I talked to one old gentleman and he said, ‘It was a long time ago; we must forgive and forget.’ Very wise words. Cape Horn, Chile
“My wife Paula and I took a copy of Our Canada to the ‘end of the world’ on a cruise around Cape Horn in southern Chile, South America,” shares Wayne Davis of Cambridge, Ontario. “The weather we encountered at Cape Horn was typical of its reputation with rough seas, high winds, rain and sleet, making for a memorable experience. Cape Horn is constantly manned with a lighthouse and research outpost. On this cruise, the majority of the people we met were Canadians. Even the captain of the vessel was a Canadian, originally from Alberta!”

Farallon, Panama
“My husband Ron and I (left) took a trip to Panama with our friends Patsy and Philip Johnston,” says Susan Asselin of Atikokan, Ont. “We took some Our Canada magazines with us so we could snap a pic and surprise my mother-in-law Greta Asselin if our photo is chosen! While visiting Woody’s Beach bar in Farallon, the co-owner snapped some photos of us. We left copies of Our Canada there as well as in Coronado, Punta Chame and La Chorerra.”

We left it at the resort to share with other Canadian tourists.”

Fort Myers, Florida
Shannon Hein of Omemee, Ontario, writes, “I travelled to Fort Myers, Florida, for March Break in 2017. I purposely took a copy of Our Canada with me so I could take a picture of myself in a different location, but with a little bit of Canada. My friend Gail snapped this photo of me standing by a model pirate ship outside the Parrot Key restaurant in Fort Myers. While I was eating, I saw an actual pirate-ship tour leaving the dock.
