Beatrice Wilkinson of Cobble Hill. B.C. writes, “This item looks to be silver-plated and has a patent date stamped on the bottom of 1915. The large, rounded part fits neatly into the hand and the object feels a bit heavy. It winds up and has an on/off switch. When it’s turned on, a little disc spins inside the small, flat end circle and makes a quiet whirring sound. What could it be?“
